AI & Voice Data Promise
The plain-language version of what happens to your voice. Six promises.
The plain-language version, written for humans. If this page ever disagrees with the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy wins.
Foxey works by listening to you speak — so this page is the most important one we publish. Here is exactly what happens to your voice, in six promises.
1. Your voice is processed, not kept
When you tap record, your speech is sent securely to our speech-to-text provider, transcribed, scored, and then the audio is deleted immediately. We never store your recording — not in our database, not in backups, not "just in case". If something fails halfway, the temporary data is discarded.
2. What we do keep
The text, not the voice: your transcript, per-dimension scores, overall score, speaking metrics (pace, pauses, fillers, pitch variation), and your streak. That is what powers your history and your progress graph. You can delete any speech individually in History, or everything at once in Settings → Delete account.
3. Never used to train AI
Your voice and transcripts are never used to train AI models — not ours, not our providers'. Our transcription and scoring providers process your data under terms that prohibit them from keeping or learning from it, and we enable zero-retention options wherever they exist.
4. Never sold
We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers. If you join the leaderboard, other users see only your display name, avatar, weekly points, and streak — and only while you choose to be visible.
5. What AI feedback is — and isn't
Foxey's scores and comments are automated practice guidance. They are not a certified grade, not an exam prediction, not speech therapy, and not professional advice. AI can be wrong, inconsistent, or miss context. Use Foxey to build a daily habit and watch your own trend line — not to make high-stakes decisions.
6. Your controls
- The microphone is only ever live while you are recording — Foxey never listens in the background. You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device settings.
- Record only when you choose: nothing is captured until you tap the record button.
- Leaderboard visibility is a toggle in Settings — off means nobody sees you.
- Delete any speech in History. Delete everything in Settings → Delete account.
- Notifications are optional; the app works fine with them off.
- Questions or requests: contact@nearmint.tech — a human reads it.
